Herschel bags

This is one of those 'dear Santa, please bring me...'-things. The classic rucksack by Herschel is on the list!

24 days

This no news anymore, since this room shaped Christmas calendar was published last year. However I never did get one, so I was pleased when I saw it in the bookstore again this year. Now I have a Christmas room of my own and it sure is pretty!

Wishing for wood

If I would be Santa shopping for me, I would do all the Christmas shopping at cb2.com. I found several nice things there like Hanno the gorilla (1), Bruno task lamp (2), shuffle calendar (3) and Ben holiday house (4). And good news is that Cb2 now ships to Finland too (unfortunately the shipping is still quite expensive, so might be better if Santa gets all in one package....)

All that is solid

Sometimes a shop can look so beautiful you wish it were in your town. Unfortunately this one isn't. You have to go all the way to Osborne street, Glasgow for this. All that is Solid is a recently opened multi-purpose space: a cafe, shop and a meeting space. And it does look lovely!

Three rugs for Saturday

Urban Outfitters has some cool new rugs in their collection. If the first one would come in bigger sizes, it would be my choice!

Pompoti

Here is another small treasure : A lovely shop called Pompoti in Riihimäki. It's located near the railway station in an old, red house and if you're ever in the neighbourhood, pay a visit. The shop is full of wonderful decorative items, furniture and especially toys and there's also a cafe. And if Riihimäki isn't in your itinerary,  Pompoti has a web shop as well.

Small treasures

I did a small shopping trip to Tiger and found a white cardboard suitcase, house shaped drawing paper, black and white case for my sunglasses and a super cute sandwich puzzle... and all for a great price!

For modern day nomads

Here is a great shopping tip for those who like a bit of nomad spirit in their home. I like it here Boutique is an online store selling carefully selected collection of high-end design home wares, gifts and accessories from different corners of the world. I could offer a home for that Afghan rug.

Designer series for iPhone

Finnish designers Sanna Lehti and Anni Kääriä from Muovo have designed this nice patterned iPhone case for Lab-C. The Korean company has partnered with graphic and textile designers from around the world to create eye-catching global designer series of iPhone cases. There are so many nice patterns that it would be hard to choose...

New faces in town

I'm a fan of  Miller & Goodman's work. Their new super cute FaceMaker blocks are in stores now and at least Ombrellino here in Helsinki sells them. The new blocks can also be combined with earlier ShapeMaker blocks for even more possibilities!

Pencil holder

Do you remember this pencil holder everyone had to make at school as their first wood work? It is starting to look nostalgic again and luckily a friend made me one. Just so simple and pretty! Or maybe you like the more rugged concrete version sold by vonr.fi? I know I like them both.

Inked puppets

I like these tattooed puppets by artist Norma V. Toraya from New York. Check out her Crankbunny-shop!

Tram ride to stationary shop

There is a hidden treasure in my old neighborhood in Töölö. Töölön Paperi is a good, old fashioned stationary shop full of charm and things waiting to be found. You can still get separately sold envelopes in different colors, old fashioned paper dolls, wooden toys and a selection of over 6000 postcards. There is no plastic and no Disney. I took a tram to visit the shop yesterday and bought this cute tram tote and some fashion paper dolls.

Mother's aprons

I found this cute apron-shop called Mother at Etsy and fell in love with their photos. There's something old-fashioned and yet modern in them.

Light in Design Forum Shop

Design Forum Shop has experienced  a great facelift: The shop is now bigger, spacious and full of  interesting Finnish design. The new 'shop-in-shop' concept introduces designers and designs under a certain theme. February's theme will be light which fills the shop with Finnish lighting design including Tunto Design, Secto Design and Saas Instruments just to name a few.
The new modern look of  the shop is visualised in the great photos by Liisa Valonen. I like!

Organic Shine Society

These are my find for today. Organic Shine Society sells handwoven wool cushions made from vintage kilim. All colours come from natural dyes. What a great cross between urban chic and traditional craftsmanship!

Dollhouse by Ferm

I'm a dollhouse person. When I get old (older) I will build myself a big dollhouse and fully decorate it. Right now I'm letting the children have their house decorated as they like. I like this new dollhouse by Ferm because it is not painted or decorated in any way and it leaves room for imagination.

Knitting helps

I have to post this cool bag by Astorknot, because what it says is so true. If my day has been challenging or stressful for some reason (and believe me, there has been a few of those recently...) I take out my knitting and it usually helps. Hope it helps you too.

Cardboard town

We own a town! This cute cardboard town comes from Poland. Three different sets are sold in flat packed packages. They can be bought separately to form smaller towns but all pieces also function together as a bigger town. I ordered the town directly from from the manufacture's website papierowemiasto.pl .
