Fur

It's fun to go shopping with good friends, but sometimes you might buy something just because friends encourage you to do so. I spent a day in Porvoo with three of my best friends and ended up buying a fur coat! Fur isn't really my thing, but now I am a proud owner of some fake fur. Not a bad buy I must say. Doris and Duke's, the place where I bought the coat from is a great shopping tip for vintage hunters. Definitely worth a visit!

Kaikille vintage-shoppailijoille ehdoton huippuvinkki Porvoossa on turkin löytöpaikka Doris & Duke's.

Marble dilemma

Marble has been a design trend for some time now, but to me it's still an 80's trend. However, I bought these marble salt and pepper shakers from the flea market for just 2 euros and still can't decide if I love them or hate them...

Day in Käpylä

Käpylä is one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Helsinki. I have lived there and could move back any day. There is a large area of beautiful wooden houses built in the 1920's and an active community. They organize a 'village fair' once a year and today was the day. We spent the whole day browsing through flea market tables, listening to music and enjoying the sunny day. Our day ended with a visit to Käpylä's own antique shop Wanha Käpy. It is one of my favorite shops and a great place for vintage lovers.

Flea market finds

This is my latest catch from the flea market: Cute ceramic wall decorations by Danish artist Björn Wiinblad. They belong to a series of twelve different ones, all named after months. The masquerade is February and apple tree October. I have no idea where they will end up in the house but I just couldn't resist them.
