Modern dream catcher
I was asked to design a colorful DIY mobile for a German magazine Nido last spring. They invited several designers and artists to send they modern versions of classic mobile. My crazy, crochet dream catcher is now in the magazine!

Fine tuning
Our new home is starting look like a home. Last weekend we did some fine tuning to our preschooler's room. Noticeboard and pencil jar got a new look with some masking tape and the beautiful fox mask from Paloni found a place on the wall.

Cardboard castle
This diy cardboard castle was originally built for a work project. It is made from old cardboard packages of different shapes and sizes and then covered with white tissue paper. Now I brought it home for kids to play with - and to test for durability. And maybe we will paint it if we get bored with white.

Taped jars
I needed some jars for my paintbrushes and here they are. As you can see, we eat a lot of jam and now the old jars can have a new life and look with some Japanese masking tape.

Brooklyn to west by Ariele Alasko
I have to share this most amazing woodwork that I just found. It's by designer and sculptor Ariele Alasko from Brooklyn and it's all made from recycled wood and driftwood. Check out her website. Super nice work!!!

Inspired by neon
I'm inspired by bright neon colours. I made a simple necklace out of neon pink shoelace and wooden beads. I also recently bought this great set of bracelets that looks like straight out of the 80's! The painting on the wall is a gift from talented Suki and headband from H&M.

Family of spoons and spatulas
Every member of our family has had the flu during the past weeks and we have spent a lot of time indoors. I have tried to keep the children from being totally bored with small art projects. This is no new idea put we did our version of the spoon and spatula family.

Hama art
When it's too cold to go out, the kids have been making Hama-art with Hama beads and even I got inspired. It is surprisingly relaxing to build patterns out of small beads...

Paris, mon amour
One of my New Year's resolutions is to do some travelling. Paris has always been on the top of my list and maybe I'll visit the city again this year. While I wait for nicer weather and springtime in Paris I can visit this paper-Paris from Made by Joel. The template can be downloaded for free in here. And if Paris isn't your thing there are many other printable toys to choose from.

Necklace workshop
I have a small necklace workshop on my couch and I'm testing different things. Here is my test with crocheted beads. I used wooden beads and crocheted around them. Quick and easy!

Tuesday project
Today's Independence Day was a fun day this year, because the extra holiday was on a regular Tuesday. Just a perfect day to relax. All I did was to finish this round crochet cushion.
Chair hangers
Often simple ideas are the best. This great idea of old chair backs as hangers comes from Italian Antonello Fusè. Simply lovable!

Paint manufacturer Tikkurila has a Christmas calendar on their website with 24 different small projects that you can do with paint. These three are my favourites.

Modern granny blanket
Oh my, this is fantastic! I found this most amazing modern granny blanket and instructions for it from Purlbee. It never occurred to me to make granny crochet like this, but now it's definitely something I have to try. The bright yellow looks great with classic gray. Purlbee has many other cool craft and knitting projects too, take a look.

House party
I'm spending the Saturday night at home with lot of candy, a movie and some unfinished knitting. This time of year when it's dark and cold out, it's my kind of party! Kids built a cardboard room and there is a party too. Enjoy the weekend!
