Fingerprints by Anu Tuominen

Anu Tuominen is one of my favourite Finnish artists. She collects everyday objects such as knitted socks, wooden utensils, school crafts and potholders, traditionally thought as women's crafts. In her work, she re-organizes her findings and makes interesting installations combining used and new and powerful colours. Ordinary and familiar turn into something new.

Co-create with Lego

I went to see the white Lego towers made by Icelandic-Danish architect group Krads. The towers are smaller than I expected but nevertheless impressive. If you have time, make a trip to Cable factory to see them. The towers made me wonder where to get only white Lego blocks?  I was told that at least Lego-shop in Copenhagen sells all colours separately.

Secrets of Russia

This you must see if you haven't already! Aamu Song and Johan Olin have been travelling in Russia and  collaborated with six traditional Russian manufacturers in order to create a series of new products. The products are displayed as part of their installation in Camouflage exhibition in Kiasma. The result is brilliant, playful take on traditional craftsmanship! The wonderful products can be bought from Johan's and Aamu's Salakauppa later on the fall. I know I will be first in line!

There are many interesting works, but here are some of the most fascinating ones.

Todo Muta wall art

These fantastic graphics are wall decals by Spanish design studio Todo Muta. Todo Muta was born as a 'graphic-object' studio and it focuses on designs on different surfaces such as fabric, walls, snowboards and ceramics. The studio also works together with other designers to create new products.
These and many other wall decals are sold by Accion Vinilo webstore. I might have to do some shopping there for my new walls...
